Hermès could overtake Louis Vuitton in turnover within a few years, according to new forecasts from Citigroup Inc.

Indeed, according to analysts from the American financial company, Hermès could in the coming years become the largest luxury brand based on turnover. By 2027, Hermès should reach the symbolic mark of 20 billion euros in turnover, according to forecasts by Thomas Chauvet, analyst at Citigroup.

In 2023, the group generated nearly 13.4 billion euros in turnover. For Thomas Chauvet: “The brand benefits from one of the most predictable (…) growth profiles in the luxury industry.”

Since the start of the year, Hermès shares have benefited from a gain of 20%, while those of LVMH have increased “only” by 8.2%. The unique model of the Hermès company partly justifies such a difference, since the group’s strategy is notably based on rarity.

Louis Vuitton alone generates nearly 50% of the LVMH group’s profits according to HSBC and nearly 26% of the group’s sales.
